The famous half marathon, The Great North Run took place on Sunday 18 of September 2011. Thousands of people were running for a wide range of charities and causes. One of those taking part in the run was our very own Denise Garner. Denise finished her run in a very respectable 2 hours and 15 minutes. Having spoken to Denise the day after the run she told me how it was very tiring and emotional, she was very happy and enjoyed it but also had cried too. Denise also told me that after the run she treated herself to fish and chips. Denise said that she was looking forward to running it next year and going even faster.
