More Christmassy Stuff!

Annie Hodkinson also joined our Blog group today as the snow meant lots of trips out couldn't go ahead as it was too slippy.
Annie said she had a lovely traditional Christmas dinner at the Memorial Hall, soup, turket and Christmas pudding and she really enjoyed it and would recommend it. She says people should be very careful because of the snow.

Below are more pictures of our 1940's party including Sue in her navy costume with a runners up certificate for losing at football all year. Sarah Clarke won the prize raffle and is pictured with our very own Mrs Santa Claus Margaret Wetherspoon!

I enjoyed the Xmas lunch too, especially the melon. And the party was fun as well, the best bit was the lovely food.

I've now got a bell on my wallet to make sure no-one pinches it which is a good idea whilst the shops are so busy.

Merry Xmas from me

ricky,

Happy Christmas Everyone!

Sorry we've had another week off - due to illness, but we're all ok again now!

This last week we've had lots Christmassy things going on and everyone has had lots of fun!

Rae Williams - (pictured below in the yellow hat next to me (Jackie)) particulalry enjoyed his Christmas lunch at the Memorial Hall in Northwich last Wednesaday when everyone from the Old Fire Station went out together.

Rae also went shopping in Northwich market and in Winsford yesterday and had a good day, and sausages for lunch, and two scones!

And he went out with Barry Williams last Saturday too, to the Riverside in Weaverham for a meal and had a lovely fish and chips dinner, followed by apple pie. He's had a very busy time of it as he also had a Christmas night at the Castle Private club on Friday night, where he got everyone's autographs...

Barry Williams is pictured below, with Heather Priestner. Heather enjoyed the Christmas dinner a lot, her favourite bit was the salmon she had. Barry's favourite was the lamb shank. When he went out on the Saturday to the Riverside with Rae he had rump steak and chips then blackberry and apple crumble and custard and would recommend it to anyone as it was a good night out.

Derek Powell also enjoyed the Christmas lunch and is pictured below with Anne Marie. He also very much enjoyed our 1940s fancy dress Christmas Party on the Friday - see next post fopr pictures. He looked fabulous in his smart suit and with a suitcase as an evacuee. The food was good, especially the sausage rolls and the music was great, done by Chris Bebbington and it was lovely to have a get together with all our friends.

And a bit more from us.....

Our roving reporters Karen Morrey and Tracy Radcliffe have been interviewing people in the Old Fire Station today to see what they've been upto and what they like and here's what they all said:

Elaine Bratt has been enjoying joining in and getting out and about with her friends form the Old Fire Station, aswell as keeping up with Coronation Street!

Charlie Royle has been enjoying playing football with John on Fridays, going out into town with Phillip and John on Fridays, and watching Manchester United too.

John Clapham has been enjoying watching films on Sky and watching Manchester play football.

Lisa Hoyle likes the Old Fire Station, Rae Williams, watching Coronation Street and Holby City on Wednesdays and going out with Margaret and Sue.

Phillip Nield has been enjoying going out to town with his friends, and to the gym and has been very healthy! He's also been helping clear up this lunchtime so he's been brilliant!

And the ladies themselves - Karen likes knitting and Manchester United and Tracy likes her knitting nancy, watching Coronation Street, going out into town and listening to music...

More next week

Bye for now

The Blog Team

We're back!

We had a week off last week due to staff illness but we're back again! We've been busy filling in the You Choose spreadsheet on the council website, saying how we think the budget should be spent. It was hard to get it all to balance but we think we did a good job!

Anyway, here's what we recommend this week...

Tracy Radcliffe says her manicure from last week at Anita Nails is still looking good and she's just had a haircut too so she recommends having your nails and hair done regularly so you stay looking beautiful!

Jason Cross has been a bit poorly with a bad ankle but was sensible and put his feet up last week, so is back at the Old Fire Station this week and very much enjoying it. he's been watching airplanes on TV and has been enjoying that.

Barry Williams is excited about this Saturday morning coming as he is definetely this time going to Jack Richards and Son lorry yard in Lostock Gralam. He is going to sit in one of lorries as an early Christmas treat and is so excited he can't wait!!!!!! He is also going to start his Christmas shopping soon in Chester as thats his home town and he really likes it, and is hoping to go to the Model Zone to get another truck too! He's also going to get presents for all his family as he's going to his sister's for Christmas. Barry has been watching a program about Eddie Stobart trucks and trailers on TV which has been really good.

Derek Powell has been shopping in Northwich this week, at Marks and Spencers and was looking at all the nice slippers, as he's getting a pair for Christmas! On TV he's been watching You've been Framed which has been very funny this week, especially a clip with a child sliding off a swing!

Ian Billington has been busy picking another top bike to put in our newsletter, which is coming out soon as he's one of our regular contributors and knows lots about bikes and cars aswell. Ian would like to say to all riders and drivers be careful and watch out for ice, as the roads are very bad at the moment.

Rae Williams has been out and about with his companion Chris this week (small world, as Chris is Derek's brother in law!). They went out to Warrington and has a good healthy lunch of egg on toast before going shopping. He bought himself a Bonanza DVD set with 12 DVDs! He's not watched any yet but is looking forward to it!. We've all been trying to remember the characters - do you remember - Ben, Hoss, Little Joe, Adam Cartwright.....

Rae fell over in the snow so would like to say to everyone, be careful.

And Jackie recommends wrapping up warm and wearing a nice warm scarf hat and gloves to stay cosy.

Last but not least is Ricky Foster, who's once agin taking over the typing to give me a break! Over to Ricky....

I would like to reccomend staying in and keeping warm in this chilly weather and using it as an excuse to catch up with eastenders!
